Rooms are good, breakfast Nice and a nice pool area. All the good sight see stuff is not so far away so a good place to stay. Dinner was oké, but you van also visit the town and have more options there. I had a great massage by Magda, so i went back te next day to get another one, it was that good. From the welcome to the hotel, the cleanliness of the rooms, the attentiveness of the staff and the wonderful breakfast I was very happy indeed. I can highly recommend using the swimming pool as it has a wonderful view and is a relaxing experience after a day out. The massage service is also enjoyable - try the lulur scrub. The Indonesian breakfast and meals are of good quality. The location is unbeatable. There is of course a little noise from the road but this settles later in the day and one can truly relax. The Cottage we stayed in had two large adjacent rooms with a connecting door, two bathrooms and two balconies with a view on the mountains. It was very clean. The staff is very helpful and helped us to find a local guide & transport. There is a nice swimming pool and a restaurant. Our suite had a room with 2 beds, a sort of dressing/storage room between the bedroom and the bathroom, and all was very clean and nice; there was also a patio seating area, which we really enjoyed in the evening. What's funny is, when we got back the next day, we realized that in spite of it feeling so quiet & isolated, we were basically on the further edge of d/t Rantepao - we'd arrived late in the evening and it was so quiet, especially given our room location, we assumed we were very isolated. One can walk if patient- or take a 'rickshaw' cheaply rates seem to be around 15,000-20,000 IDR one-way to/from town for foreigners - very readily into the heart of the town. We ate breakfast in the restaurant but no meals otherwise; the breakfast was ample, but skewed Western for our tastes - that may be an advantage to many, and there were Indonesian dishes, just less spicy than we had grown used to elsewhere. The staff was outstanding - they were so helpful and friendly, and took time to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. While "expensive" by Sulawesi or Indonesian standards, it is very affordable for many visitors, our rate was around 50 USD/night as I recall, and I believe we booked the most expensive rate at the time. Since many hotels are in lower quality compared to other locations, so you really have to set your standards lower. Staffs were friendly and helpful, breakfast was good, room was oversized, cleanliness was okay but not great, they have many facilities but not something that would benefit or excite you. Location is good, on the main road and relatively close to the town center of Rantepao.
